In a world where we are constantly exposed to external cues on how to eat, move and be healthy, I want to help you better understand the principles behind correct eating, hydration, exercise, sleep, thought, breath and stress management for your unique needs.
I believe each person is an individual, and without appropriately assessing your lifestyle habits and goals, any recommendations can only be a guess, and produce short- term results. That’s why I’ll take the time to look at as many factors as possible affecting your health. Rather than a prescription, I will help you listen to your body, learn what works for you, and then support you while those changes become lifelong habits.
Whether you are sick and tired of feeling sick and tired, have some specific health challenges, or want to perform at your best in whatever you love to do, I’ll take a specialized and indivualised approach to get you the results you’re seeking.
If you want an exercise program that will support your energy levels and optimal wellbeing, I’m the trainer for you. Exercise is a powerful drug, which can either build a healthy body, or break one down! As a certified CHEK Exercise coach, before writing your exercise program I’ll perform a holistic (whole body) assessment looking at your overall physiological load (stress), your structural alignment, and your goals. I then take a 3 stage approach of
1. Building energy and correcting alignment
2. Strengthening the body
3. Performance based training for whatever it is in life you wish to perform at your best in! ( NB I will refer you on to a more specialized coach if your needs fall outside of what I have to offer)
Everyone experiences stress. It comes in many different forms, and yet it affects one person differently to another. My approach to helping you reduce the level of stress you experience in your life is to build resiliency by first identifying your individual loaders, teaching you how your body responds to them, reducing or eliminating those which we can, and then showing you how to respond to them in a more helpful way.
Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome is a term coined by Dr James Wilson, and refers to a specific energy/fatigue pattern. It can be brought on either by prolonged stress, one significant stress or illness, or repeated bouts of stress from which the body doesn’t fully recover in between times. It is estimated that 80% or more of people in the western world will experience stress related adrenal fatigue at some time in their lives yet is still unrecognized by most conventional medicinal practitioners.
Recovering your mojo requires nutritional support to help the body to recover and re-establish balance, and is totally achievable by using the above mentioned approach, along with lifestyle changes which support your energy, and specific nutritional support to help the related glandular systems recover and re-establish a normal stress response.
First and foremost my role as a certified FDN Practitioner is to engage you in a holistic journey of awareness, education, and healing which allows you to be your best self and live your best life.
Where the medical model seeks mainly to identify and treat the symptoms of disease, and will often only offer diagnosis and assistance once lab results fall outside of the medical model of “normal”, I understand and acknowledge that your symptoms are real, a signal from the body that something is out of balance, recognising those malfunctions on a subclinical level, and seeking to find those hidden imbalances which when left unresolved tend to escalate and may lead to disease.
As an FDN Practitioner that involves assisting you in becoming aware of all internal and external stressors including hidden malfunctions in your body using lab testing, correlating those results with what you are experiencing (symptoms), restoring balance using drug-less protocols and lifestyle modification, coaching you through the process, and course correcting as we go.
